I’m not spreading hate!! I just wanted to give my thoughts and wanted to see what other people thought hehe. I loved how creative this comeback was and I wanted to share my thoughts about knife 😳

So I will be honest, from the beginning that I heard parts of knife and when I saw the preview of the MV, I had mixed feelings about it. I still did for a bit BUT I just saw the Studio Choom performance and honestly I think the song isn’t THE “problem”

I think it was the approach to the song that “messed” it up a bit. I would say that the chorus just being the word knife did make the song a bit weaker. However, I think it was the aesthetic they went for that caused conflicts. The concept photos and even the MV has many tech and cyberpunk elements, but they went for very hip hop style of image. I think that the rest of the videos fits with the narrative that they tried to create about them being on the run in different places or maybe even eras but Knife feels a little out of place bc of their approach to the song.

What I have seen that Belift often does is that when Enhypen does anything hip hop…it goes all out whenever it’s not needed😭. Like not only because the tone of the song is more harsh or has rap it means you have to go for the hip hop image 😭.

I would have still tried to follow the concept of them being in the run with the cyberpunk/dystopian aesthetic but show it a bit more clearly. The main inspiration would be the aesthetic from the Matrix and sort of “spy” movies. They should have stuck a bit more with the fugitive concept to really build out the storyline well on the MV mostly bc it’s the title song. It feels like the aesthetic they went for on the MV did a bunch of random things and it felt a bit unorganized.

However, there are a few things I would emphasize more and one of them is the vampire hidden society. I loveeed when they first showed some of it on the desire:unleash concept films and I would really really love to see more into it. Like knowing there are full societies and systems it’s sooo interesting. I also would show a bit of behind the scenes of the people trying to catch them. I would also add some of the elements of the fugitive version album like them using their passports and id’s. I feel like that’s such a cool touch. I also would have loved to have added a couple of action scenes ☝🏼

I hear the music and it literally gives this sort of vibe instead of just full of hip hop. I attached some pics as the visual board. I feel like overall Enhypen is a much more clean cut group that looks good with clothes that may be complex in details but are still in a way minimalistic if that makes sense. So this sort of clothes and style would look sooo good on them. Also the makeup would be more simple…I feel like the make up they did for studio choom and for knife as a whole is a bit too much.
