A little bit about what's happened so far:

  • I reported this account to both HYBE and Spotify last month.
  • The profile now seems to be unsearchable and the song won't appear if you "like" aka add the song to your profile. (Good!)
  • I actually requested that Spotify do exactly this in my report to Spotify, but there's no way to know if this fake artist profile and album/song listing has been hidden because of my request or because HYBE is now aware and dealing with the situation.
  • My concern is that despite the profile and song/album listing being semi-hidden now, it is still somewhat up — it can be added to playlists and the track can still be played.

The last slide (slide 3), is the email reply I received from Spotify. As you can see, only Belift/HYBE can properly handle this situation, so please help me get more reports to HYBE (report to >>HYBE<< not Spotify!) so that the possibility of my previous report to HYBE getting buried is lessened.

Yes, there is a chance HYBE is already aware of the situation and working on it. I still don't think it'll hurt to have a couple more reports be sent to HYBE.

Some people may also say this seems like a trivial issue in comparison to what's been going on in terms of artist privacy infringement, but I think we can tackle multiple things at once. The fact that someone is profiting off of Jay's extreme hard work and labor of love just does not sit right with me.

P.S. Thank you to the user/mod(?) who, when I posted asking about this Spotify listing, lmk this profile is in fact fake and pointed out they were likely profiting off of Jay's cover.

Title: Spotify Account Impersonating Artist

Contents: There is a fake ENHYPEN Jay account on Spotify with Jay's Youtube cover of Bon Jovi's "Always" listed as an official album and song. This means this individual is profiting off of this listing. I have reported this issue to Spotify already, but Spotify is unable to do anything because only the authorized rights holder can submit valid notices of intellectual property. Please reach out to Spotify via their legal form: https://support.spotify.com/us/report-content/ so that this matter may be swiftly dealt with. Thank you.
