So, we are 1 month away from Desire:Unleash releasing and we don't really know much about the concept or musical direction yet, but the one "spoiler" that has been mentioned a few times is that this Album will SHOCK US.

And then today I woke up to Music Journalist Taylor Glasby tweeting: "When you hear the new EP and understand exactly why Jay said, "You'll be shocked". (https://x.com/_xtgx/status/1920651639091778027?s=46)
Jay had already mentioned the "shocking" thing before on his birthday live, along with saying there will be a lot of new things – and he emphasized "good new".
SO LET'S DISCUSS BECAUSE – WHAT COULD BE SO SHOCKING!???
Are we thinking GENRE, CONCEPT, COLLABS, LYRICS, LANGUAGE, MUSIC…. do you guys have any theories or ideas about this?
I’m excited to see what this album will bestow upon us. With Enhypen, we’re always well fed. Each comeback fits their storyline and is shocking, so it’s hard to say what is coming. I didn’t expect them to go from dark blood to orange blood. Memorabilia was a surprise. So atp, I’m not sure what to expect. BUT I am hoping that they lean into Daydream and Loose vibe, but dark. Those songs are more sexy and with a title like DESIRE UNLEASH?!?! This has to mean one thing. We are in our lustful, sexy, dark vampire era.

i really hope, despite its freaky name, its a sign of enhas return to their horror and really vampire concept/lore (gt & dd)!!! Maybe it’ll be much darker than usual (the teasers so far are lowkey weird…kinda horror..)

And I can’t reconcile how an album that would appeal to everyone and was made for everyone would also be shocking.
To me when I hear “an album that everyone is going to enjoy” – I think of more easily digestible music, like Pop. But then – this doesn’t align with the “shocking” part – and it also doesn’t align with them saying that the sound is gonna be very different than Loose.
You guys in case you can’t tell – I’m already losing my mind thinking about it, and the comeback is a whole month away😭

i remember last year when we were speculating about romance untold, i was really hoping for a concept like this. i was wanting something very dark, lustful, and back to their vampire roots. it seems like their new thing is making albums in juxtaposition with each other, like how dark blood was dark obviously, and orange blood was its light counterpart. the songs were very similar on both albums just dark and light versions of each other if that makes sense ?? desire:unleash has the same title format as romance:untold, so i feel like it’s going to be a dark counterpart to romance untold. i personally think it’s going to be “shocking” because i think it will be their first album that is more on the sexy and lustful side, since romance untold was the boyfriend concept. i think we will see a lot of similar to bite me, sacrifice, moonstruck, etc. idk this is just my two cents

EN have done so many different things now it’s hard to imagine being shocked by anything, but if even a journalist said we WILL KNOW then it most be something? And she said “when you hear the new ep” so I’d think it’s the composition/tracks shocking not necessarily the title track and not the visuals.
The shock and Jake’s comment about this being for everyone is hard to click together… what I can think is a combo of diverse styles so everyone finds stg in new genres and delivery styles we haven’t heard before from them. Things like a proper hard rock song (Jay said his favourite song is on the new album that would make sense for him), soul, hyperpop, jazz, trap? Would love more phonk, teeth was a blast. They said before it’s spicy/hot so I think it would be a sexy ep, but I personally consider dark blood and somewhat memorabilia sexy eps too.
If the thing is that there are full english songs I don’t think that would be “shocking” but it would be surprising and make it more “for everyone”..? I doubt it’s that though.
it’ll surely shock both the older and newer engene that’s for sure! it’s definitely a darker concept (than even the darkest stuff they have so far?!) given the promotion calendar video
The iHeartRadio host mentioned Ariana or Lady Gaga collab. I saw on twitter saying Ariana has Hybe stock and the producer for Bite Me is the same one for Gaga’s last album.

I think it’s gonna be like the vampire lustful dark side of romance. I noticed the parallel between the words untold and unleashed. What was originally untold/hidden behind a loving and sweet facade will be unleashed and it’s going to be HAWWWWTT and ik the music is gonna HITTT
